  1. The My Mavuno story session really touched me…and I really want to share mine.
I joined Mavuno in May when Pastor M was preaching about Dreams.
I was at the verge of going down, giving up and leaving the faith, but God brought people in my life and now I say I want to continue in the faith and Im not giving up. Amen. Thats my Mavuno Story;).

  3. I cried when I shared my Mavuno story with my fiance; you see he is part of that story. I came to Mavuno in October last year when Pastor Simon was speaking about Attitudes for Altitude. I had just quit my job in Kampala and was looking to link up with my friends. It was one of the them who suggested we go for service and then have lunch. After that I never missed. Later in November, I invited my boyfriend who gladly showed up. We had both been away from church for years! I was lost confused, alone and weighed down by soo much sin. He was struggling with alot of issues as well. In Jan we were both without jobs and we joined Mizizi, God begun His work, I rededicated my life to God and he got saved in March! I had never imagined living a life where I did not have to look behind my shoulder fearing the next attack, you mean God is not a policeman!!. I just wanted to know my purpose to stop living for myself. At the retreat, God confirmed word over my life about being a woman of faith, a strong woman for His purpose (I always knew I was strong but I resented it because I felt it intimidated people). We both got baptised on the same day in the presence of our families and felt the freedom we were searching for. Now we are serving in Lifegroups and looking forward to joining School of Prayer. We pray together, serve together and love each other under God’s watch. Though he is still out of a job, I now not only work in an agency but co-own it and it is under God’s leadership as my partner and I commit all our projects in prayer and have a day to pray and fast during the week. We pray about everything, interviews, office changes, the nation, the church, relationships, everything. I have seen God present in that business as He gave us three huge accounts and gave us a bigger office! Honestly for the trip to Pluto and back, I would never have imagined being here living for God, being in a wonderful relationship with a man who genuinely loves and serves God, owning a business that exists not just for profit but for the expansion of God’s Kingdom (this is a PR agency BTW). I love God, I commit to living my life and being on Mavuno dream team until all of Africa is changed, things will be different on my watch! I am Fearless! Thank God Almighty I am Fearless for His name’s sake.

  4. As much as i hate admitting it, the service ALMOST moved me to tears, i finally saw that God trully is ALIVE, seeing some of my buddies on stage trully transformed was simply beyond words. I now want to own what God has planned for me, i want to be part of the Mavuno dream, maybe head a delegation of Ushers to recruit new ushers in Kampala or Kigali, i want to dedicate my soon to be Law practise, i.e when i graduate to God and probably have something to do with the acquistion of the vast lands that the Mavuno dream requires. Our dry bones are no more, our God is powerful beyond words. I am ready….

  5. sunday service was amazing..i am now ready to take on africa for christ..i however have a problem(not about the sermon)when they announced that the audio bibles were now available, i went to check on it.the price was 500 kshs.only when i got around to buying one, they asked me if i wanted the new or old testament..this is my problem..what do you mean old or new testament..i just want the whole bible?if the bible is 1000 shs then tell people it is 1000shs. this reminds me about the story pastor S gave last month on the potato seller on Nakuru highway..”if the debe is full he will charge 3 times more” hence the reason for the karatasi inside the debe..but insnt it right to just fill the debe and charge the correct amount?i dont have a problem with paying whatever amount the product is. suggestion..when someone asks, you could say” each part is 500/=” that way there are no misunderstandings..
it feels like all those hidden bank charges,or products that come with copyright, usage charges…i have both CD’s now but imagine if i had only had 500 and i had to pick btn old and new testament..and only because i wasnt informed it was twice the amount…..someone please look into it…have a blessed week everyone

  7. Ooooh, I’m excited as I write this!!! During our 4th Anniversary, Pst. M spoke a word to us during the sermon and in prayer concerning how it is time for us to take over the nations/cities/companies/schools for the Kingdom and that came as a confirmation to me of God’s will. A few of us fearless wavunaji made the decision to do an off-site Mizizi in a campus for our struggling friends (we’re campo students as well). I had been praying for God to confirm if it’s His will and if it’s the beginning of a new take-over, and He confirmed it through you Pasi!!! I am now [more] passionately following up on the matter and I’m already excited about what God is about to do in our campuses. Woi, they won’t know what hit them!!! Thanks Pasi, ubarikiwe sana ~

You know wen I came to church on Sunday,id totally given up thinking im too sinful to God.but I realized im not alone, all the pple who walked to the front declaring their past lifes.I realized God loves us despite our faults.Even in situations where we think all is lost, like the dry Bones,God brings us back to life!!
Thank you Pastor M, even when you think you are not making a difference, touching one soul counts alot in heaven!!!

pastor M’s sermon this Sunday was exactly what i needed. iv been swimming in projects and i just needed a break!my friend though insisted that i go with her to church. I am facing a dry bones situation all over my life,i have relationships that died, and most of all a vision that sometimes i think is too big for me to handle..and as i heard you speak about prophesying to your situation all i could ask myself was how do i know that these dry bones are what God wants me to raise?how do we know what is God’s will and what is our own?which dry bones are ours to raise?
there is a poem that is often said by recovering alcoholics-lord,give me the serenity to accept things i cannot change, the courage to change things i can and the wisdom to know the difference. so in a world full of dead bones, which bones do i revive and which are those God does not want me to change?where does God’s will start and where does my own end?
i ask this because am one of those “activists” pastor M talked of and my passion almost burns me into a fever and i may want something so bad but may be wasting my time because God may not want me to go down that road.so if a friendship has come to difficult patch,if a there is something just impossible in our lives, when do we know that God does not want us to give up and when do we know that God wants us to see it as Ezekiel?
    please help 😦

  11. Whoa! Sundays sermon got me thinking how many times ive been quick to point fingers or sit pretty and wait for someone else to get up and make a difference or do something. Pastor M kept asking us, “If not you, then who.” As I meditated on the sermon, God asked me, “IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN?” God has called all of us to specific roles and assignments to fulfill His purpose. Many are the times we shy away or let fear get the better part of us and we procrastinate. We push it off till nothing gets done! If we begin today, with what we have, where we are, then we will be that much closer to seeing a 2015 that looks nothing like the picture that was painted for us in church at the beginning of the service. Let this be your constant reminder, ‘IF NOT NOW, THEN WHEN?’…make that call, write that proposal, get that idea off the ground etc.

  12. That was an amazing service and thinking about the testimonies that were on stage is still bringing tears to my eyes.I am so glad that God has given me the opportunity to be part of His church.Pastor M u really challenged me about the kind of christian i am…passive. Am kind of a wallflower and just wait for others to take control coz i can be very controlling, but now i cannot wait to discover what my purpose is(yes i have signed up for mizizi). I have also being studying the book of ezekiel just to establish a foundation of the word we read n HeeeeeeeH!!! Wasnt the Lord harsh. Tungeweza kweli? Am even more thankful that Jesus died for our sins. I dont have a mavuno story its more like a mavuno book.

  13. @Kaiza – i totally feel you! sometimes i have such conviction about something but then again, i fear/question “how do i know this is Gods will and not mine or just my desire?” As we speak life into dry bones into our lives, how do we know which bones we are meant to live alone? how do we apply this principle?

i remember i was there once, i wanted a certain job so bad, then God opened up a door and i got internship with in the same field, then after three months my contract was over, i had worked so hard and deligently i knew God would not leave me hunging, i was sure i would be called to sign a contract for a full job, i was so dedicated to it, that for the three months internship, i was never paid anything but i worked supper excittedly,..then one week passed, one month, three months, you bet i was fighting with God during this waiting period, i got a job somewhere else but i was not seeing how i was not in the same company,…long story short, my passion for my job training did not end, i still have such a passion for it, but now i want to do it in church, mainly becasue we are the pace-setters of this country and if the church prospers, the nation prospers

what am trying to say is, i don think it is for killing the dream it is for alining that dream with God’s greater vision you will be amazed at how He has been waiting for you to align it,…

    ps. hope i make sense

  15. The 4th aniv service was a blast! I too have a mavuno story! Tis a young story as I habve been with mavuno since feb this year, or thereabout, but i have seen God’s hand at work in my life..n I know, He aint done with me, not by a long shot! At mavuno i have found a church i can call my own, yani, I feel God’s presence in a way i never have, n I cant wait to see wat else God has in store 4 me!

I loved the idea of a Mavuno City..a city wit malls, movie places, conference halls etc that all glorify God! May the Lord hear this prayer, n help us to know how to begin to act 4 this to come to pass..because it will!

I recently finished Mizizi, n yani, it was a wowing experience to say the least. N ave bn asking God to help me know where to serve from, n as pastor M preached on dry bones, a passion i had 4 educating young girls came back..n I talked to the Lulu trust gals, n i knew this is something i wanna do. So am praying bout this, that the Lord would just continue to open this doors!

  16. I forgot to write these in my previous post

Be4 i write a novel out of the sunday service, let me make 2 observations: I was moving around on sunday wit food on ma plate n realised that we don have dustbins at the compound (esp car park) so had to keep moving sround wit junk (sthg i learnt from mizizi ..hehe). So i would like to buy us a few dustbins with ma next mnth salary. I however dunno how i would go about delivering this..who can i deliver this to?

Then. As i said, ave just finished mizizi n we there4 have not started meeting in the lifegroups. So i realised that we as a church probaby need to consider hhaving a mid week prayer session. I know that the church idea is that most pple should be nourished mid-week through the life groups, but the reality is not all church members attend a life group..n it would not hurt to attend the lifegroup n still have a prayer service mid-week. Over to you pastor M n team for your thoughts on thus….pls pls pls consider this. I have a coupple of pals who don get to go to church on sunday coz of work, n this would come in handy!

  19. The testimonies abt the mavuno story were moving.I was overwhelmed by the love that God has shown to all those undeserving Men and Women.
I am looking forward to the next Mizizi. I know I have a fair share of my issues which I would like ironed out. I have tried to sort myself out but am too insufficient. I hope Mizizi is the answer.I am ready and willing. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Wah my mavuno story…i cant still choose which one personally i will have to write a book..2007 heard Pastor M speak somewhere but couldnt find the church he came from, 2008 september a friend invited me to church first person to welcome me thats…right Pastor M..Mizizi awesome; life group seriously this is the greatest thing ever invented it just makes Mavuno home for me…God has truly been good..cant wait to start school of prayer in september!sunday i just wanted to go thru the whole service standing…i just felt on fire and so ready to move.People, am sure the visitors thot Pastor M and the rest of us mavunites leave in a cloud but i just want to say, we know that God who can put life in dry bones is more than able to do all that Ps M was saying and more yani the only thing required is us to stay available, start influencing and serving right where you are and just let God puff you up with His annointing.Lets get ready for the tasks ahead, sign up for mizizi, be in a life group, do school of prayer, word;yani get equiped people by the training offered in church and with God in us…..MMMMMM..CANT WAIT.Shalom.

  21. I feel so so blessed to be a part of Mavuno and as we celebrate our 4th anniversary, I especially celebrate being a part of the Mavuno Blogging Community for the 1 year it’s been up & running.

    This blog has been:

    – such a safe place to “vent”: there are times in this journey you need to vent and its been so good to do it with a community of believers walking the same direction

    – a place of such love: a place to give and receive healing & encouragement from God thru’ fellow bloggers

    – a place where God is found: the “blogimonies” of the things God is doing in our midst is just astounding!

    – a place to show gratitude: God knows I would like to come and shake the hands of each of the pastors, Mavuno staff & ministry teams after each and every service:-) – God bless you!

May the Good Lord be praised, great things He hath done!

  22. @ Mimi, thanks for sharing and of course it makes sense. i suppose what keeps us from just taking a leap, speaking to the dry bones is because we see what we want to see,we only see the dead part,we cant envision the bones alive..i guess what am trying to say is see life, change your vision i suppose..@ weat.lets see life.OK?

  23. First, I am still in awe at the level of Word in Mavuno! Secondly, the level of structure and excellence are “to live for” – I am well taught after Pastor S’s CTI series – right confessions! Keep up the sterling work for the Lord Pastor M and team.

My curiosity is specifically geared towards the Village ministry, more so the location. Why Carnivore? Why not antoher place? Reason I ask – it has been a subject of many a discussions / crtitism and now that I am a Mavunite, I find that I am unable to answer this question. A close friend from Nairobi Lighthouse Church gave me a ‘sermonette’ about compromise by choosing to conduct Godly matters in venues known for ungodly activities. Please help me be better placed to answer and / or to be a better representative for Christ and Mavuno.

God bless you for daring to be different!

  24. Hi curious believer, great question! I’ve a myriad answers to it but will try limit myself by tying in to last week’s sermon. Psalm 66:1 says the earth is the Lord’s and everything in it.’ The bible also says the thief came to steal, kill and destroy. I think that when we categorize a space as ungodly, we are giving the enemy too much credit!

In Europe, what were formerly churches are being taken over and used as clubs and markets. The enemy’s kingdom is on the advance. This is despite the fact that Jesus promised us that ‘the gates of hell will not prevail against the church’. That promise describes an offensive, not a defensive military action. At Mavuno, we believe we’ve been called to take over what the thief stole and to return it to it’s rightful owner. That’s what Christ came for. And in the words of Pastor M last Sunday, ‘If not us, then who?’

  25. Even though i am over a week late in posting this,i also got my Mavuno story that I’d like to share. It’s awesome being in God’s house and that is exactly how it feels coming into church every Sunday. I was in the worship team in the church i used to go to but sometime in 2007,the group decided to take a break that to date has never kwisht.I stopped going to church and because of how guilty it felt whenever i was in church and heard people singing,i would make sure i check in after worship(that is on the few times that i went).Church had become too routine for me and even though i didn’t get myself into doing crazy stuff and the likes, things were just different. And the guilt was killing me slowly.
Fast forward to Feb this year and i got transferred back to the city and man wasn’t i glad.I just wanted a new start and i found that at Mavuno! Its not the hype but he realness of the messages(sermons)in my life and the awesomeness of the worship experience every Sunday. There are those times i just stay for the second service just to have that experience again.I just cleared Mizizi(yaaaaannnnniiiii!!!!!!)na bado!School of Prayer,c u in Jan…….
All in all,i know i ain’t there yet,but i am glad i am somewhere with God,mos mos talking a step at a time and u never know where the walk of faith will lead me.Thank u Mavuno team and thank God for second chances…..I am one happy guy…

P.S.The verse from Revelations should be 11:15 just so as to avoid confusion…Baraka tele!

  27. @curious believer, that debate is simple. Where did Jesus hang out? Who did he hang out with? We must go to where the harvest is as we have been called to. We cannot just sit pretty in church waiting for people to come, we must take church to them. ‘Christians’ have put too many dos and donts that arent there in the bible forgetting that Grace that saved them and even extend it hence people going to hell as we have debates. If its working then no need to justify God’s work, if it wasn’t we can discuss it; since its working………….
