    Part of the tag line is worrisome
    The part that goes “Si poa ku-chill”

    I think it is important to clarify the meaning especially for the young ones who know that it means another thing as set out in the NACADA campaign.

    In so doing, it is understood in the proper perspective.

  4. What a message? And what a charge? Thank you Pastor Linda for allowing God to use to deliver the challenge. I stood on the brink of some life changing decisions and your challenge has spurred me on. Like Joshua and Caleb, I am exploring the ‘Land” God has apportioned me and claiming it … Can’t wait to hear the next portion of the series.

    Great sermon Pastor L and as always, your passion and single hearted way of approaching topics is always an inspiration. From the beginning of the year I have felt that God wanted me to go forth and take possession and I kept (and continue) to tell my friends that there are open heavens over us this year; that whatever we have been desiring shall be achievable, this year, if we shall only go forth and take possession. You can imagine the pleasant surprise I got when this sermon simply conformed to me what I was already feeling and experiencing in my spirit. In addition, there are certain things I had been struggling to accomplish over the years yet this year, so many have more or less miraculously unraveled before my very eyes in a matter of weeks, and we are just in March! I can’t wait to see all else God is going to do in my life this year. But God has made it very clear, only those willing to set out and take possession will experience these benefits. One last thing that totally rang out for me was Joshua 14:9, that all that the soles of our feet touch shall be our inheritance; that our willingness to explore shall determine our inheritance. Awesome stuff! Next course please 🙂

  8. Pastor Lydia rocked! Although am in my late thirties I believe its never to late to set targets which are meaningful and christian based, so come 2020 God willing i will look back and feel proud about my achievements. Most of my targets are to do with my life as a whole, how i relate to people and family. My family has just had a breakthrough towards the end of last year and we are all working on becoming one, although it took the death of my sister to make us realize that in order for us to achieve our GOALS IN FUTURE we need to be at peace with each other. I thank God that Mavuno has given me a whole new perspective in approaching Life. Every Sunday is a new beginning and it gives me the vigor and pep to face the week ahead. God Bless

  12. Thanks pst. Linda for the amazing sermon. This week has been full of scouting the land and its amazing what am finding out..

    @Si Poa Kuchill-i know it can be confusing, but the series is really targeted at us with the intention that it will arouse interest and make someone come to church and listen to this crazy message. For the young people(teens konnect, kids) its different because they learn about the same thing but in different ways.Am sure the children in Green house are learning about pioneering in their own way without the “si poa kuchill” tag. God bless.

    I agree with the person who expressed worry about the “Si poa kuchill” tag
    some people especially those who were watching the sermon on T.V were wondering “what !!!?” maybe the tag should be explained more clearly next Sunday so that people don’t think we rare promoting promiscuity.

On Sunday I was at home listening to Pastor Linda’s sermon, which really motivated me a lot through life teachings. I want to join this church and to know more about God. I love Mavuno Church and what you are doing.

  16. That sermon was a blessing Pastor Linda and i cant wait to come to church on Sunday. As for the tag “Si Poa Kuchill” it definitely captures and retains the audiences as they really want to find out what the sermon is about. And for the TV audiences, welcome.

    The challenge given to let go of fear was very needful. Most outstanding statements:
    – this is not the time to magnify the long standing fears;
    – to walk in fear is to walk in Godly contempt;
    – there is nothing that one can encounter that is a threat to God’s power.

  19. I forgot something. Since we are on TV now, the services will get more full. I understand the 1st service is already feeling the change. So we need to move to the 6k tent URGENTLY. Tell us what is required & let us help raise the funds.

    As a born again young kenyan the “Si poa Ku-chill” tag line puts me off… After all the funds that have gone into sensitising the youth that Ni poa ku-chill??? And the reality that HIV and AIDS are a real menace in society, this is no joking matter! Neither I nor my family are gonna watch a programme, let alone a church sermon, with such a title.

    The sermon series is ‘deadly¨’!! That is just what we all kenyans need, even those in diaspora.
    Now, ‘concerned’, i think you are missing a huge point here. This is not some campaign, it’s a Title in a sermon series! You are the superficial kenyans who need to get out there, stop reading newspapaer headlines instead of the whole story, then start spreading rumours…. Mavuno church is ministering to many many people out there, and the likes of you should just get over it and join in!

    Blessings Mavuno Team! God is really working things big through you!

    @ Concerned! I am so sad that you would chose to deny yourself and your family life changing message from God because of a Tag Line…even before you try and understand WHY the tag line was chosen.
    Please listen to the message this past Sunday where Pastor M explained why the title Si poa ku-chill was the chosen tag line.
    Mavuno is not trying to joke about anything…the message is serious!

  25. Dear “Concerned”, your fears r o.k BUT! Having bn involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS for almost 10yrs, tagline for a moment made me think, what!? So like the Bereans, I sort to know the truth. Tagline was explained n all doubts cleared, how I wish u were there. This month’s message has so touched my brother who’s a father of 3 girls n he never went to church in the name of too busy in his business, such that, after watching sermon on sunday for his 1st time, he now has confessed God has an interest in him, his family n his business.his life is turning around for the best n I believe his daughters will grow having a better daddy…even to teach n guide them to avoid HIV! It’s a ripple effect! I challenge u to give it a thought n prayerfully so!

  29. Mavuno church is a true blessing and the wind is picking up speed in Kampala and we are loving every moment of it. That kind of preaching is just what many people need and it is such a blessing to me.
    @ ‘concerned’, it is easy to judge something by its title but it will be such a shame if you and your family miss out on the wonderful message. I dare you to sit through just one sermon and as sure as night comes after day you will change your name from ‘concerned’ (which is another word for fear) to ‘Fearless influencer’.
    God Bless the Mavuno family.

  32. Hi,
    Just joined mavuno at the lowest point of my life. I was six moths pregnant and just discovered that my Husband who I completely trusted had a string of affairs and in fact one of the mistress was carrying his baby. I asked to leave and my life was very sad, sleepless nights and I actually believed that God did not exist . I noted that even though I had tried to live a respectable life I was getting punishment yet there were people I thought were reckless and were not going through half what I was going through. To make matters worse, when I asked him to leave, he immediately moved in with his pregnant mistress. I know this is late Pastor Linda but I was greatly inspired by your teachings and you made a difference in my life. Am strong now and believe that some things just happen for a reason and am amazed at how God has been faithful to me: got a healthy baby , new job and I look and feel good. Keep praying for me as the matter is now in court over maintenance issues. thank you Mavuno for coming into your life-
