  1. I happened to have come for visit on the first Sunday of November. pastor Linda was the word preaching that Sunday, i really dint quite get to follow the message at the start but as we went on a head i really go touched by the message and I wanted to know more of what in store. I ended up coming to the next service until the topic came to an end.
I would say the message really ministered to my hearth and i want to know of the gospel, i want to leave a fresh new life.
My testimony on top of all this is that i haven’t been looking for a job but this month I got a call from a potential employer and I was invited for an interview. at the moment I am praying that the feed back comes back according to the will of God since i am currently at an employment that has a lot of challenges and I really would like God to intervene in the Best way possible.
Thank you pastor Linda for your word that Restored the lost Hope that I had.

    God bless you.

  2. Pastor S, thank you for speaking to us from your heart, again. Listening to you share about where you’re @ & your launching out in a few weeks, hooked up this month’s sermons. It’s starting to become very clear what I must do. Goodness! I cried through most of the sermon today because you were speaking to & about me the whole time.

I’m @ a place where it’s safe, solid and familiar. I’ve worked my current job a long time and I’ve loved it, but in the past few months (read five months) I’ve been questioning my need to keep @ it – what with all the talk of living out my God-given purpose. I know my job’s not taking me in the direction that God wants me to go. I know, but I keep @ it cause it’s safe. I go to work because I have a contract & it pays my bills, but I’ve become increasingly dissatisfied. Each day I’m @ work, I ask myself what I’m doing, whether it’s really what I should be doing… Most days I know it isn’t, but on those days, fear kicks in & reminds me that this is a solid, safe place. I won’t kid myself, it is for this very reason that I like familiar things.

What would happen if I responded to God’s word & stepped out? I know I’d be in for the ride of my life. Like you said, it would be quite an adventure. I want to ‘walk on water’.

So, I’m @ a place where I’m desperate to hear clearly what God is saying to me & asking me to do. This is both scary & exciting. I really liked that point you made about the difference between faith & foolishness; so I’m waiting for the word of God to me & I will respond to that. I know it’s only a matter of time & for some reason, I don’t think I’ll have to wait too long.

Thank you Pastor Linda & Pastor S.

  4. Amazing Grace Says:

Pst. S. All I can say for now is Thank You. God continues using you and we heard and we know not to blame anyone for not making the right choices when we need to. At times we get comfortable, then when God speaks we say its a crossroad and most of the time its disobedience. The seats were hot, we had goose bumps and it was not comfortable at all. We continue to pray for you as you STEP UP and believe that you will be blessed as you get onto the next phase of serving God. Most of all we pray for ourselves, for wisdom, courage, understanding and defeat of fear which is from the devil and often times he uses this to keep us from stepping out of the boat. We will STEP OUT and STEP UP when the call comes. You are an example and an inspiration for many. You trully are a fearless influencer. God will take care of you and your family and he will direct your path. God bless you. We give thanks to God for Mavuno Church, for the 3 Praying Pastors and the revelations we receive week on week.

  5. Hey everyone,

Not to rain on Pastor’s S’s parade (awesome sermon by the way), but yesterday after Church as i was driving out, i was saddened beyond comprehension about how discourteous some Mavuno drivers are..after really connectiing with a message that for me was transformational and extremely thought provoking, i could hardly believe my eyes as guys overlapped, ignored kind requests to let in a few guys from the side rows, and generally behaved like we had all just come from a disco or something.

My fellow Mavunites, i humbly submit to you that we are a blessed crew, yaani the kind of divine connection we have through Mavuno is stuff churches many years old have struggled to find (& perhaps faked, just to remain relevant). Truly, truly, truly, we can connect with God’s kingdom and become fearless influencers of our society, first as individuals, as small groups, as a Church and who knows, in the world. But that change can only come from within.

If what Pastor S talked about yesterday touched you, then you must appreciate that we influence by how we “do”, at home, at work, in the mall, in queues, in planes, on the road, everywhere..its not about telling guys you are “fearless” and you then brazenly look away as you overlap or refuse to give way, in the Church parking lot! Secondly, if Pastor S’s sermon did not quite touch you (quite unlikely!), then take heart because with the plans God has for us through Mavuno you will experience his love and friendship, but that still requires that you “do” what His word says..

I’m personally going to think up and develop a solution to the traffice challenge and forward it to the Church office for consideration because i do not believe we are a bunch of inconsiderate and careless road users (& by extension citizens of this country)..we are destined for greatness..

Let’s not be the guys pointed at for the wrong reasons.

  6. pastor s mine is simple. i asked God for a confirmation last sunday before coming to church about what direction he wants to take me and whether am hearing him correctly and he answered through you when you said- COME!!! dont be afraid- it is I. for me that settles it – i am stepping out because he has confirmed. 2010 is a year for extra ordinary things – because God is ready to use you to do extra ordinary things for his kingdom. you are a blessing

  7. pst. S, wow. God surely used you and thanks for letting yourself be used. I step out in faith, stepping on God’s word, looking into His face only and not around at the storm. I shall not miss the adventure by staying in the boat. I shall make a change in my country and continent. God bless

  8. pastor S i was inspired by your story and your journey. thank you for keeping it real not many pastors do that. thank you for stepping out of the boat to save my generation from being destroyed and displaced. the journey you are going on is scary it scares me and excites me at the same time. because i know that jehovah is with you, you will change lives, touch people, win souls for the kingdom and inspire a movement towards unity through prayer. to me your journey is very similar to Paul. i urge mavunites to not forget to pray for you at all times because i know that you will face opposition. i say this not to discourage but because to date when people speak of the post election times focus is on the negative things that happened. very few stories are told of how people and communities came together to help each other. for me it is a strong signal that the devil is arming for the next fall out. Like pastor linda said in her previous sermon we can not stand by and not be moved by the stories of the youth arming themselves. We can not stand by while politicians biker and divide us. We must step out and stand up for our generation and claim Kenya and the continent for jesus. I must Step out of the boat. Thanks pastor S. I am taking that first step into my God destiny. God bless you and keep you. And i will always remember to pray for you.

  9. ui had to share this. it is a reminder from a friend and i wish we could all remember this as we step out of the boat or think if getting into the boat. you are God’s perfect plan and your life is in his hands.

    by Russell Kelfer…

You are who you are for a reason.
You’re part of an intricate plan.
You’re a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
    Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb.
You’re just what He wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones He chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,
And they bear the Master’s seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
    And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into His likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
    Because there is a God!

I attended my first service@Mavuno Church last Sunday.I found your service ultra-modern,different and yet refreshing.I believe that Mavuno more than any other Church has the best chance of capturing our youth as it appears to cater for their needs without being judgemental.I will turn 53 in May next May and though no longer youthful, I felt welcome at your service and intend to adopt you as my Church.
